As always, you will have a smorgasbord of classes for different levels and different schedules to choose from in January, February, and onward. But there are a couple of exciting things happening right out of the gate that we don’t want you to miss. With 2019 approaching quickly, here a couple highlights you will want to know about.
 The first Sampler of 2019 happens on Wednesday, January 9, 7:15pm, at the Blacksburg Community Center. Blacksburg Group classes are a great way for Blacksburg residents to decrease their commute to dance class and for everyone to try learning in a supportive, group environment with lots of review and practice built in. Even if you don’t plan to take a Blacksburg class this semester, the Samplers are always fun, free, and informative.  For the first time ever, we are offering a Monday-night beginners’ class at the Studio in Christiansburg. Running on Mondays, January 21 through February 11, the “Sweetheart Special” group class is geared towards couples new to dancing and an absolutely perfect class for preparing for Valentine’s Day. Back and better than ever, the Senior Social Dance Party on Sunday, January 20, is a great opportunity to enjoy ballroom dance performances by Sapphire students, sample some yummy snacks, meet interesting new friends, and then (if you want) try dancing during the beginner-friendly lesson all to fantastic music from the 40’s, 50’s, & 60’s. http://www.sapphiredance.com/events.php

We truly hope that this holiday season is a time of peace and rejuvenation for all of you: a time to enjoy the end of the year and all that we have around us as well as to prepare for an awesome new beginning right around the corner. 
This Saturday at 7:30pm, get the jump on the year-end festivitiies with what will probably be the most exciting holiday party around at the Peppermint Ball Dance Party. Start the evening with a Single Time Swing Lesson, add five different kinds of peppermint candy for the sampling, mix in lots of fun people and great music... Now that's a recipe for a sweet treat! No experience or partner necessary, so come get jolly with us! Details available at 
Monday nights at the Sapphire Studio in downtown Christiansburg will feature a couple of 1-night workshops: East Coast Swing and West Coast Swing as well as the last few weeks of a Viennese Waltz class (contact us if you want to join in). Details on all those are available at 
Blacksburg 4-week Group Classes get condensed into two 2-hour-long sessions to give us one last chance to dance on Tuesdays and Wednesdays before taking a break for a few weeks: 
And last, but never least, Friday Night Beginner Workshops will continue to waltz merrily along through the holidays. Each evening, you can learn two dances from scratch and take a peek at a third, in an environment perfect for beginners, but still fun for experienced dancers looking for a quick review. With no partner, experience or commitment necessary, these workshops are perfect for doing something fun on the fly. Unfortunately, we will have to cancel on Dec 14 and 28, but that still leaves the December 7 and 21 to come out for one of the best Friday activities around:
