Hello from Mountain Lake!
You might have noticed your dance teacher was extra tired last week. That's because Dirty Dancing Season has started. We hosted, taught, and boogied our way through the first full Dirty Dancing Weekend of 2026 at Mountain Lake Lodge on April 24 & 25. I'm always nervous before the first one, but we were awesome! Inspite of almost everyone forgetting something that they were supposed to bring, the weekend went beautifully! I couldn't be prouder of the crew of teachers, student-teachers, and students that went up the mountain. Only 5 more to go!

Social with a beginner American Tango Lesson
Free for Beginners

What is a Playing Favorites Social, you might ask. Because (I agree) it's not at all obvious. The playlist is crowd sourced to the Sapphire staff. They all submit a handfull of their favorite dance songs to be included in the playlist. Not just current Sapphire Staff, but past staff too. You remember Maggie? How about Caitlin and Kaleb? Linda and Dennis? They all have songs on the playlist. Yes it makes for a unique combination, just like our personalities. It's so quirky, it's one of my absolute favorite themes.
We’ll be starting the evening with a beginner American Tango lesson: classic and cool, with just enough drama to get everyone excited.
No experience or partner necessary – just bring your enthusiasm and your dancing shoes!
Bring a snack to share and earn our eternal gratitude.
Our next Social will be Night Groove on Sat June 13 at 7pm. |

Sapphire's classes, workshops, and events are always small, low stress, and fun. They are a great way to meet other people who are also learning to dance, as well as get to know our teaching staff. It doesn't take any long-term investment to get started, no special clothing or shoes - just something comfortable to wear and a sense of adventure. So, take the plunge and try it out.
