Group Lessons and Events
Visit our Square Store to pay online (and register at the same time) for classes and private lessons.
The lesson listing is updated about once a month, unless something unexpected happens. If you see less than a week's worth of several types of events, an update should be on its way.
Our typical schedule includes Friday Beginner Workshops, Line Dancing on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, What's Next Classes and Workshops (not for beginners) on Mondays, and (seasonally) 4-Hour Group Classes in Blacksburg on week nights.

Intermediate West Coast Swing with Abi Schneider
Intermediate West Coast Swing
Tuesday, October 22, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Join us for private lessons and workshops with guest instructor Abi Schneider!
Abi's diverse dance background consists of Lindy, Balboa, West Coast Swing, American Ballroom, Social Latin, Hustle and more! These all combine together to create a delightfully knowledgeable teacher with a gift for passing along information.
She began dancing Lindy Hop in the middle of the Neo-Swing era in 1998 at the Derby in Hollywood and has since moved across the country. We were fortunate enough to meet and dance with Abi at a recent event where we were charmed by skills and friendly personality.

You spin me right round, round, round
East Coast Swing Friday Beginner Workshop
Friday, October 25, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Always wanted to learn to dance but didn't know where to start? Swing is your friend. Country, blues, rock, metal, pop, hip hop - they all have swings! It works beautifully to such a large variety of music that we try to teach it to random people on the street.
Missed last week? No problem! Each week we teach a 40-50 minute lesson, starting with the absolute basics in a fun, popular dance style. And then, finish off the hour with a little taste of another style that will be on the schedule later in the season.
It makes an awesome #DateNight, #ParentsNightOut, or an evening of #FunWithFriends.
Location: Sapphire Studio (downtown Christiansburg) and online

High Dive into Nightclub
Take this Show on the Road Nightclub 2-Step Deep Dive Workshop
Monday, November 4, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Take the plunge and learn more, more, more Nightclub 2. This is it - as challenging as we're going to get in this series. You've trained for this; you're ready. Am I keeping it deliberately mysterious? Maybe.

Price: $21/person in-studio for one hour and a half workshop
$32/person in-studio for both Deep Dives this month.

Gobbler's Groove
Quickstep Dance Party
Saturday, November 9, 7:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Details are still in the works - but what do you really need to know? It's November and we're having a groovy, food themed dance party. You can extrapolate and you'll probably be right. Wear your favorite "Stretchy Pants" and get ready to work off those pre-Thanksgiving calories. Our lesson will be in Quickstep!
Join fellow dancers, young, old, experienced, and shiny new for an evening of good food, good friends, good times, great music, and incredible dancing. Bring a snack to share and earn our eternal appreciation.
Join us at 7 for a complementary lesson - it will start friendly and end with a bang!

Historic Dance (in casual clothes)
Historic Dance (English Country Dance) Workshop
Tuesday, November 12, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join the English Country Dancers of the New River Valley Historic Dance Society as we laugh, dance, and enjoy each other's company while learning dance new to us, but old as the 13 Colonies. This is the dancing you find in Pride and Prejudice, that George Washington did on vacation, and that evolved into modern Contra and Square dancing.
Beginners, groups, singles, and families are always welcome. Every dance will be taught by being broken down into simple components and cued while dancing. If you can walk, you can dance, and we'd love to have you join the set.
Location: Sapphire Studio
Price: This workshop is free, but a donation jar will be out during the dancing, if you feel like adding a couple of dollars. .

Getting Jolly For The Holidays
Beginner Line Dancing and Cookie Exchange Line Dance Workshop
Tuesday, December 3, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
We are turning this, the last beginner line dance of 2024, in to a cookie party! We will supply the punch, maybe some hot cider, and you bring a bunch of your favorite cookies to exchange with the other dancers. We'll laugh and dance, trade cookies, and then head home with a plate of goodies.
Please be sensitive to food allergies! We will provide cards (or you can make your own) to list common allergens.
